IELTS Speaking Part 1 Topic & Questions: Shopping
Do you like/enjoy shopping?
Well if you are talking about shopping for clothes then I’d say no, I am not a slave to fashion (to be influenced too much by something) and don’t try to catch on new fashion trends. I find shopping for clothes time-consuming (taking a lot of time to do) and money-wasting.
How often do you go shopping?

Almost every month. I’m quite an impulse (acting suddenly without any planning) shopper, so whenever I adore an item, I am gonna buy it without a second thought (without considering the consequences).
Who does most of the shopping in your household?
Oh, It’s my mom. She knows how to drive a good bargain (to expect a lot in exchange for what you pay) and she knows exactly what is needed for the house. So I guess it is sensible that mom does most of the shopping in my family.
Should we spend money on expensive products? What is the quality of high-end items and low-cost gadgets?
I believe that you get what you pay for (The less you pay for sth, the lower quality it will be) so if we really invest money in buying what we need, the product is gonna last for a long time whereas if we are a bit cheapskate (a person who is unwilling to spend money), we might regret later.
What is the most expensive item that you have purchased?
Well, the most pricey thing I have ever bought is an Switzerland watch. I was a big fan of this brand so the moment I saw the watch on my Facebook news feed, I decided to buy one for myself, though it costed me an arm and a leg.
