Strangers

Is it easy to start a conversation with strangers?
It depends. For those who are introverts (someone who is quiet, shy and like to spend time alone rather than communicate with others), it can be so intimidating (frightening, less confident) to strike up (start) a conversation with a stranger. However, for those who are extroverts (someone who are open, confident and like to communicate with others) and outgoing, I don’t think there is a problem for them to talk to strangers.

Do you often carry on conversations with strangers?
No I don’t. To be honest, I suffer from SAD – social anxiety disorder, which means that I find talking to stranger a real hassle (difficulty, problem). I usually try my best to avoid having conversations with people that I don’t know.

Do you mind being evaluated when you meet someone for the first time?
I mean who doesn’t. Although I know that first impressions count, I think being judged right at the first meeting is a bit too much. And if the judgment is negative, it might seriously affect my self-esteem (confidence, pride) and I don’t think I can cope well with that.
