Band 8 Model Answer

One large company I want to tell you today is Grab, which is a multinational company that offers a range of services, including transport, on-demand (whenever people want it) delivery, consumer and financial services on a single mobile platform.

So talking about how I knew about this company, a few years ago when I had to go to my university to sit an exam, at that time, my motorbike had a flat tire and I didn’t want to use public transport since it had lots of pushing and jostling (the state of being crowded or pushed together). Therefore, I used grab because I had been told that Grab would take me anywhere with a reasonable price.

Anyway, I am really fascinated with this cooperation mainly because I have been told that seasoned workers will get several benefits-in-kind (non cash benefits) such as a company car, free accommodation, a laptop or a smartphone and fringe benefits (something you get in addition to salary) such as health insurance, worker’s compensation and meal subsidization (the act of providing a subsidy).

I am truly amazed by how well this company treats its employees. Not only that, unlike other companies where their workers work hard but get paid a pittance (an amount of money that is so small that it seems unfair), Grab do offer their staff a handsome salary as well as incentives (additional payment) to encourage their staff to dedicate and contribute more to the company. Furthermore, the working environment is also professional, all the employees or grab drivers are required to put their customers on pedestal (to admire someone so that you believe they have no faults). I am not sure if it is a good thing or a bad thing, but I believe that this will help maintain the customer loyalty.

I really hope this company will keep achieving more in the future because they really make our life more pleasant and convenient.
