ANSWER BY BAND 7,5 IELTS TEST TAKER:

Well, the book I want to talk about today is the ‘Robinson Crusoe’ written by Daniel Defoe. Last week, I found this book on a book- shelf and I couldn’t help reading it again. It reminded me of my life in the junior school.

When I was in junior one, I knew this novel for the first time. The novel was simplified and was printed on my Chinese textbook. After listening to my teacher’s analysis to the story, I was attracted by the novel and purchased its original edition.

The novel told the readers about an adventurous story. The name of the protagonist was Robinson, he met many difficulties when he went out upon the sea. He was attacked by the pirates and was captured by the planters. Finally, he drifted to a deserted island. On this island, he planted the crops, built the house with the woods as well as made the tools by himself. Moreover, he also rescued the life of a savage on the island. At last, he found a boat and went back to his hometown.

The reason why I couldn’t help reading it again is that I think the book has its educational meaning and I can learn a lot from Robinson, since he teaches me not to be afraid of the difficulties. Life is not a plain sailing. One is bound to suffer from frustration and setbacks. When facing the difficulties, I should learn from Robinson and be optimistic, and I need to believe that only if I overcome all the difficulties, can my life be more meaningful.
