IELTS Speaking Part 1 Topic and Questions: Public transportation
- Do people in your country use public transportation?
No I don’t think so I guess this is because buses or trains here are filthy (messy, dirty) and inefficient. Not only that, there is a lot of jostling (pushing) that really deter (prevent) people from using mass transit.
- When was the last time you used public transport?
I only have a dim recollection of (have a memory of something that is not clear in your mind) the last time I used public transport, maybe it was probably 2 years ago when I had to go to my university to pick up my university degree. My motorbike at that time was broken, so the only option I had left was bus.
- Do you want to improve public transport system in your country?
Well if I had the authority (the power to tell people what to do or make decisions), I would improve the public transit service and encourage more transit ridership (the number of passengers on a public transport system) by creating more drop-off and pick-up points, or building more queue-jumper (to take a place in a queue ahead of those already queuing) lanes and bus lanes or even having a priority bus traffic signals.
