Describe someone who is talkative

Band 9 Model Answer

Well, my circle of friends is quite broad and I have befriended many who are talkative, in both a pleasant and disturbing way. However, today I’m going to give you an account of one person who is my intimate buddy called X. And I have to admit that he often grab everyone’s attention since he is the one talking on most occasions.

X is a guy I have known since I was knee high to a grasshopper, and we both graduated from the same university. So I’d say we are on really good terms and getting along with each other like a house on fire as we often see eye to eye about almost everything. What strikes me about X is his immense knowledge of every discipline in life which may probably be the reason for his talkativeness at every party we join.

Nam shows a big preference for love-related issues, and acts like an agony aunt advising others when it comes to complicated love affairs. As most of my friends are still single, he would show us the tricks to have a girlfriend or a boyfriend, as well as going on and on about the unique experiences he has accumulated in love, simply to show off his knowledge.

Actually, sometimes I quite lose my temper when being bombarded with too much talk from him, but most of the time, his experience and knowledge help me out a lot in life. There have been times I advised him to talk less, but nothing worked, and he just went back to his character of being a wordy type of guy.

QUESTIONS FOR PART 3

Which occupations need to be talkative people?

When it comes to being talkative, I’d say that Jobs that involve participation in public events usually require talking a lot. MCs, for instance, have to pave the gift of the gab as well as the ability to give a speech non-stop for several minutes or g hours. This is due to the fact that they are the center of attention at a certain event and their words can carry much weight! Another occupation I can think of is marketing. Marketing staff often have to be fluent in their speech and talkative to persuade the consumers to buy their products. The nature of their work forces them to be wordy and aggressive though they may not like to do so.

Are you a talkative person?

No I’m quite sparing of words and remain quite silent In most parties or meetings. The reason is that it’s always better to be a passive listener than being a talkative guy. By this way, you can obtain more information and knowledge from others, while avoid being judged by your friends about the words you say.

Why do some kids like talking so much and other kids always so quiet?

As I see it, genetic factors and the living environment are both to blame. Firstly, if in your family there are garrulous members, It can be seen that the remaining members may pick up certain traits from that wordy guy. Secondly, some people remain quiet solely because they don’t see the need to gossip aimlessly about their personal matters. It’s not too good if others know too much about you, so parents often educate their children to be cautious in their speech and only speak when necessary.

When you give your speech, you encounter any problems? Do you think some adults feel tension when they are give a speech?

If you ask me, I would have to say that I often come up against some obstacles when preparing my speech as well as when the speech is in progress of being delivered to others. In the process of preparation, I often have a hard time picking the topic that is relevant and can capture the interest of the audience! If you don’t, they might get fed up with the speech and you end up conveying no messages at all to others. As for while I’m giving a talk. I usually stammer and feel at a loss for words at times, which is a Weakness that I’m trying to get over.
