Well you know I am not a short-tempered (become angry easily) person so I don’t get angry so easily, which is why my friends really enjoy my company (the activity of being with others). But there was a time one of my best friends hacked me off (annoy someone) and he actually had to make an apology. So I will talk to you about that incident.
Well, a few months ago, I had a very important exam to sit and I was inundated with my homework from university, you know, I had a raft of (a very large number of sth) presentations, assignments that needed doing and to be honest, I was frazzled (very tired). It was such a nerve-racking (nervous) time for me, which was why I was cranky (strange and unsual) and grumpy (unhappy);
Anyway, when I was studying with my friends for the exam, I felt starving and I decided to grab something to eat. And out of the blue (suddenly), a friend of mine cracked a joke on how fat I was and I shouldn’t eat too much. At first, I was cool with that as he oftentimes teases me about my appearance and weight. But then he kept talking about how hideous (very ugly in appearance) I looked and I mean it, not ugly, but hideous and that was when he got on my nerves (annoy someone).
At that time, I felt outraged (extremely angry) and I decided to tell him off (criticize someone angrily) then leave. In fact, I really wanted to punch him in the face but I couldn’t. Anyway, he realized that he had gone too far (to behave in a unreasonable way ) so he quickly apologized to me but it was too late. I gave him a fierce glare and I just left. I mean, had he considered all the ramifications (outcome) when making that joke, I wouldn’t have been so angry. And you know, since then we haven’t made any contact, I guess I will just let our friendship fizzle out (become less enthusiastic or disappear) because I don’t really want to be friends with those who like to body-shame (criticize someone for being too fat or too thin) others.
